Lai Wei Keung, Sifu, was not shy about Mantis. He was one of the first to be certified as a Mantis Sifu by Wong Yook Gong. Both he and his father, were also Lao Sui's Chu Gar disciples.
Boxing forms or sets of Kwongsai Mantis sometimes begin with a left step or a right. 'Four Doors' begins on the left and 'Eight Doors' begins on the right. Each form always has the standard of "opening and closing the rib cage" power in the beginning, as seen above.
Mark Gin Foon Sifu's "10 elbow strokes" is "opening the rib cage - dip guat gong" although few seem to train it as such.
